11/19/2008 Steve Eminger, D, TB Eminger snapped a 63-game, goal-scoring drought with 2:51 left in the third, and also assisted on the Lightning's two other goals, but Tampa Bay lost 4-3 in a shootout to Florida on Tuesday.

Analysis: Eminger isn't going to score many points, though he did have 35 points over two seasons with Washington in 2005-06 and 2006-07.
11/19/2008 Bryan McCabe, D, Fla McCabe scored twice in regulation, and the Panthers beat Tampa Bay 4-3 in a shootout on Tuesday night.

Analysis: McCabe scored just five goals last season after scoring at least 15 the previous three seasons. He already has three in just seven games this season.
11/19/2008 Miikka Kiprusoff, G, Cgy Kiprusoff stopped 22 shots for the win as the Flames beat Colorado 4-1 on Tuesday.

Analysis: Kiprusoff is hoping that will signal the end of his recent slump. Coming into the game, he had been 2-4-0 with a 4.91 GAA in his last six starts, and was yanked from his previous start after allowing four goals in the first period.
11/19/2008 Pascal Leclaire, G, Cls Leclaire allowed seven goals on just 19 shots Tuesday, but wasn't pulled, in the Blue Jackets' ugly 7-2 loss to Edmonton.

Analysis: Leclaire had an outstanding 2.25 goals-against average last season, but he's hardly come close to matching that so far in 2008-09. He's 4-4-0 with a 3.56 GAA in nine starts.
11/19/2008 Adrian Aucoin, D, Cgy Aucoin tallied a goal and an assist in the Flames' 4-1 win over Colorado on Tuesday.

Analysis: Aucoin now has three points in the last two games after being held without a point for the previous five contests. Still, if he can stay healthy, Aucoin has proven himself to be a decent goal-scorer for a defenseman. He had 10 goals and 25 assists in 76 games last season.
11/19/2008 Shawn Horcoff, C, Edm Horcoff had a goal and two assists to lead seven multiple-point scorers, and the Oilers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 7-2 rout of the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night despite being outshot 39-19.

Analysis: Horcoff is third on the Oilers with 11 points, but he'd been in quite a funk prior to his three-point effort Tuesday. He hadn't scored a goal and had just two assists in his previous eight games.
11/19/2008 Nikolai Khabibulin, G, Chi Khabibulin made 36 saves through overtime, then stopped two shots in the shootout as the Blackhawks edged the Phoenix Coyotes 3-2 Tuesday night.

Analysis: Khabibulin (2.33 GAA, .924 save percentage) is off to a solid start this season, and the shootout success was encouraging. It was his first win in a shootout this season after three losses. If he can continue to make saves in the format, it will earn him a few more victories.
11/19/2008 Evgeni Malkin, C, Pit Malkin's 13-game point streak ended for Pittsburgh in the Penguins' 2-1 shootout loss at home to the Minnesota on Tuesday night.

Analysis: Malkin, the NHL scoring leader, had scored at least one goal in each of his previous three games, but was credited with only one shot despite several good scoring chances versus the Wild. Malkin had six goals and 21 assists during the streak. He left briefly in the second period after being struck in the mouth by a ricocheting puck.
11/19/2008 Chris Neil, RW, Ott Neil each will be out of the slumping Ottawa Senators lineup for several weeks after tearing the meniscus in his right knee Saturday night against the New York Islanders.

Analysis: The injury will require surgery, and Neil is expected to miss at least a few weeks. He has two goals and an assist in 17 games this season.
11/19/2008 Mike Fisher, C, Ott Fisher will be out of the slumping Ottawa Senators lineup for several weeks after straining a ligament in his right knee Monday night against the New York Rangers.

Analysis: The injury will not require surgery, but he'll still miss a significant amount of time. Fisher has two goals and four assists in 16 games, a disappointing start coming off three straight 40-point seasons.
11/19/2008 Rostislav Klesla, D, Cls The Columbus Blue Jackets placed Klesla on injured reserve Wednesday.

Analysis: Klesla injured his wrist in last Friday's 6-1 win at Buffalo and is expected to be sidelined at least one week. He has one goal and two assists with eight penalty minutes in 11 games with the Blue Jackets this season.
11/18/2008 Tim Thomas, G, Bos Thomas stopped 28 of 30 shots in the Bruins' 3-2 win over Toronto on Monday night, as his league-leading goals-against average slipped to 1.78.

Analysis: The strong effort was nothing new for Thomas, who also leads the NHL in save percentage (.944). Manny Fernandez does steal some starts from him, but until he shows some sign of slipping, Thomas has to be considered one of the best fantasy goalies around.
11/18/2008 Dan Ellis, G, Nsh Ellis stopped 28 of 32 shots on Monday in a 4-1 loss to San Jose.

Analysis: Ellis has allowed four or more goals in six of 14 starts this season.
